Simple Energy has announced that there will a delay in commencing the deliveries of its flagship scooter the Simple ONE. The start-up will now begin deliveries of the electric scooter during Q1 2023.

Owing to the recent battery safety guidelines issued by MoRTH, the electric scooter will comply and adhere to the new standards, thus causing the delay, noted Suhas Rajkumar, Founder & CEO, Simple Energy.

'Safety has been our priority since the beginning. The scooters delivered will be the best in class scooters that are safe, and futuristic. We appreciate the patience and the love that the customers have showered on us,' he said.

The start-up had started booking for the electric scooter in August 2021. It also conducted its test rides for the customers to experience the Simple ONE first-hand in twelve cities: Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Goa, Ahmedabad, Indore, Jaipur, Delhi, Lucknow, Bhubaneshwar.

Simple One is priced at INR 109,999 (ex-showroom) for the standard variant with a real-world range of 203 km (up to 236 km in ideal conditions), and INR 144,999 (ex-showroom) for the long-range configuration with over 300 km of range in ideal conditions with an additional battery pack.
