SpiceJet Increases Captain's Salary To INR 7 Lakh Per Month

Gurugram-based Low-Cost Carrier (LCC) SpiceJet has increased the salary for Captains flying its aircraft to INR 7 lakh a month for 80 hours of flying. The hike in monthly remuneration for Captains will be applicable from November 1. 

“The salaries of Trainers (DE, TRI, LTC) and Senior First Officers has also been increased commensurately,” the airline said in a release. Following the latest hike, the salary of SpiceJet Captains will now be higher than their pre-COVID salaries. 

The LCC has been revising pilot salaries on a monthly basis, with a 22% salary hike announced in October. SpiceJet has been consistently increasing the base salary of pilots. Compared to August, the September salary saw an increase of up to 10% for Trainers and 8% for Captains and First Officers. From October, the salary was hiked by another 22% for Captains and First Officers.
