Swaraj Tractors Crosses 20 Lakh Production Milestone

Mahindra Group-owned Swaraj Tractors has achieved the feat of rolling out 20 lakh tractors from its manufacturing plant in Mohali.

This is a testimony of the faster growth of the brand Swaraj, said Harish Chavan, CEO, Swaraj Division, M&M Ltd. “This achievement has further cemented Swaraj's reputation of being reliable and one of the fastest growing brands in the domestic tractor market over the past few years,” he said.

Inception in 1974, the company had reached the first milestone of 10 lakh tractor production in 2013.

Swaraj sells tractors in the 15-65 hp range, which are manufactured in two of its tractor plants in Punjab. In addition, Punjab also houses Swaraj’s own foundry and R&D centre, while a new manufacturing plant is also coming up in the state.

Commenting on the landmark, Hemant Sikka, President, Farm Equipment Sector, M&M said, “This journey to reach the 20 lakh production mark today has been challenging and exciting for us. Going ahead we look forward to providing more agri-based solutions and enabling mechanisation.”
