Toyota Unveils Rumion, Based On Suzuki Ertiga

The vehicle also gets Toyota i-Connect, with remote functions for climate, lock/unlock, hazard lights, headlights and many more. It is compatible with smartwatches and Hey Siri voice assistant.


Toyota Rumion

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has unveiled the Rumion based on the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, entering the B-MPV space. 

The Rumion will be powered by the K series 1.5-litre Petrol engine mated to either a 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission, with Neo Drive (ISG) technology and E-CNG technology. The company claims a fuel efficiency of 20.51 kmpl in the petrol variants, while the CNG variant is claimed to return 26.11 kmpg.

On the inside, the B-MPV gets a 17.78 cm Smartplay Cast Touchscreen audio with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay along with Arkamys Surround Sense. The infotainment system includes Bluetooth connectivity, steering-mounted audio and calling controls, and USB connectivity.

The vehicle also gets Toyota i-Connect, with remote functions for climate, lock/unlock, hazard lights, headlights and many more. It is compatible with smartwatches and Hey Siri voice assistant. The Toyota i-Connect also provides safety and security features like auto collision notification, tow alert, find my car, valet profile, vehicle health and malfunction indicator monitoring.

In terms of safety, the Rumion gets dual front and front-seat side airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, engine immobiliser, ESP, hill hold assist, and ISO fix child seat anchorages along with front seat belts with pre-tensioners and force limiters, seat belt reminder for all seats, and a high-speed alert system.
