Uber has unveiled 'Uber Pro,' a rewards program designed to support and inspire drivers in achieving their goals, both on and off the road. This initiative offers drivers new opportunities to earn, additional options and support, and increased discounts on essential services. Launched across 12 Indian cities, Uber Pro introduces exciting rewards, perks, and exclusive features for drivers, aiming to enhance the overall platform experience by making every trip enjoyable for both riders and drivers.

Shiva Shailendran, Director - Operations, Uber India & South Asia, highlighted the significance of drivers to Uber, stating, “Drivers are at the heart of what we do at Uber. We are committed to providing a great ride experience for a rider and driver each time they choose Uber.' Uber Pro rewards drivers with high customer ratings (above 4.8) and low trip cancellations, aiming to elevate the overall experience on the Uber app.

Uber Pro comprises four tiers: Blue, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond, with Diamond being the highest tier. Starting as a Blue-tier driver, individuals progress by earning 'points' on every completed trip and meeting specific criteria. Points reset every three months, and drivers' tier status is determined over this rolling period.

To celebrate the program's launch, Uber Pro conducted the 'Uber Pro Diamond Challenge.' Drivers maintaining the top 'Diamond' rating for two full quarters had the chance to win a Maruti WagonR (TourH3) through a lucky draw. Additionally, approximately 300 drivers received shopping vouchers worth up to INR 1 lakh. Diamond and Platinum tier drivers enjoyed exclusive experiential rewards, including area preference for trip pickups, priority support at Uber greenlight centres, and automatic eligibility for 'Premier' trips on the Uber app.

Uber Pro drivers, across all tiers, were also eligible for enhanced microcredit limits and discounted premiums for Life, Health, and Motor insurance. Riders can now view the driver's tier status when booking an Uber, and drivers can track their progress through the Uber app. The program is currently live in 12 cities, including Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Pune, Hyderabad, Delhi NCR, Kolkata, Lucknow, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Guwahati, and Jaipur, with plans for expansion to more cities in the near future.
