Vedanta Aluminium has announced the conclusion of a technical masterclass on ways to enhance the productivity of the extrusion industry.

With close to 300 participants from 60 players in the extrusion segment, hailing from India, US, UK, Portugal, Greece, Australia, Israel and many more countries, the masterclass was conducted by Jonathan Pangborn, who serves as the Technical Advisor of Billet Extrusion for the company's Customer Technical Services (CTS) cell.

Pangborn noted, 'Aluminium extrusions find applications in every aspect of modern human life, from the houses we live in, to the aeroplanes we fly in.'

With the diversity of aluminium applications rapidly evolving to enable the decarbonisation of countries and companies, industries must leverage research knowledge to bring in a step change in their offerings, he added.

A press release from Vedanta Aluminium noted that the masterclass was a part of its offerings for customers, including new product development, new application development, market development, knowledge & technical expertise, and more. Students from India's premier technical universities and institutes also attended the session.

Rahul Sharma, CEO, Vedanta Aluminium, noted that the response to this masterclass has been extremely encouraging, and the company plans to conduct many more such knowledge-sharing sessions for customers going forward.
