Altair, a global leader in computational intelligence, has announced the forthcoming launch of Altair SimSolid for electronics, promising a game-changing solution for fast, easy, and precise multi-physics scenario exploration in the realm of electronics, spanning from chips, PCBs, and ICs to complete system design.

James R Scapa, the founder and CEO of Altair highlighted how traditional simulation methods often compromise on detail due to the complexity of PCBs and ICs, whereas Altair SimSolid enables engineers to capture intricate complexities without simplification.

Altair SimSolid stands out for its ability to predict complex structural problems accurately and swiftly, revolutionizing conventional analysis methods. By eliminating geometry simplification and meshing, the most time-consuming tasks in traditional finite element analysis, SimSolid delivers results in seconds to minutes—up to 25 times faster than traditional solvers—while effortlessly handling complex assemblies.

The initial release, scheduled for Q2 2024, will support structural and thermal analysis for PCBs and ICs, with full electromagnetics analysis slated for future releases.
