Targeting long-haul customers, Hinduja Group flagship Ashok Leyland, on Wednesday, launched the ecomet STAR 1815 truck.
Capable of carrying a payload of 17.5 tonne, the truck will be available in five loading options - 20ft, 22ft and 24ft (with day cabin) and 20ft and 22ft (with sleeper cabin) options. In addition, the truck is also equipped with Advanced telematics (i-Alert), remote diagnostics and Advanced Digital Driver Assist (ADDA). The truck is powered by a 150hp engine delivering 450 Nm torque.
The commercial vehicle maker also plans to retail the truck in the new white colour cabin variant.

With the new ecomet STAR 1815, we set our footprint in the 17.5 tonne segment and ensure higher profitability for our customers in logistics, e-commerce, parcel, agri-perishable, cement and industrial goods applications.'
