Hero MotoCorp-backed Ather Energy has partnered with Flipkart to drive sales of its electric scooter offering in the online channel. Ravneet S Phokela, Chief Business Officer, said that the online channel will complement the offline channel.

'We've entered into a partnership with Flipkart to launch the Ather Energy 450X Gen 3 scooters on the Flipkart platform. We are initially piloting this in Delhi NCR, and will roll out to the rest of the country soon,' Phokela wrote on social media.

The start-up has been posting an increase in its sales month-on-month this fiscal with 2,451 units in April 2022, going up to 3,338 in May, 3,816 in June 2022, followed by a slump to 1,281 in July and then a surge to 5,147 units in August, and to 6,165 electric two-wheelers E2Ws in September 2022.

Phokela had earlier told Mobility Outlook that the sales figures for Ather Energy will only increase from here on. 'Every month from now onwards will see higher numbers,' he had said.

The start-up has targeted a presence in 90 cities via 120 touch points/experience centres by March 2023.
