BluSmart & Citroën Forge Strategic Alliance With 4,000 ë-C3 EVs mobility outlook

BluSmart has joined forces with Citroën signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to integrate 4,000 Citroën ë-C3 electric vehicles into BluSmart's expanding fleet over the next 12 months. This significant partnership underscores a mutual commitment to advancing sustainable transportation and marks a substantial step forward in BluSmart's mission to build a comprehensive EV mobility ecosystem across India.

This addition bolsters BluSmart's fleet to over 7,000 EVs, reinforcing its position as a major player in the electric ride-hailing domain. The Citroën ë-C3, an all-electric compact SUV, is a strategic choice for BluSmart, offering a robust range of 320 kilometres per charge according to ARAI, and is equipped with rapid charging technology, enabling a near-full charge in under an hour.

Anmol Jaggi, Co-founder & CEO of BluSmart, highlighted the alignment of both companies' visions towards achieving net-zero mobility and high safety standards in automobiles. He emphasised BluSmart's commitment to decarbonising urban mobility at scale, leveraging the nation's largest all-electric ride-hailing service and an extensive EV charging network. The partnership with Citroën allows BluSmart to meet the increasing demand for eco-friendly ride-hailing services in India's metropolitan areas, providing a diverse range of advanced EVs to its customers.

Shishir Mishra, Brand Director at Citroën India, echoed this sentiment, underscoring the collaboration's role in promoting sustainable electric mobility and contributing to a cleaner transportation ecosystem. He lauded the Citroën ë-C3 for its design, efficiency, fast charging, and advanced technology, making it a compelling choice for both passengers and fleet operators.

BluSmart's innovative approach includes 'Assure by BluSmart,' a financing initiative that allows retail and institutional investors to contribute to the electric mobility transition by financing EV purchases and leasing them back to BluSmart. This model underscores BluSmart's innovative strategies in fostering a sustainable business ecosystem around electric mobility.

BluSmart's commitment to a greener future is further evidenced by its significant operational achievements, including the completion of over 12.5 million all-electric trips, covering 410 million clean kilometers and saving 30 million kilograms of CO2 emissions. With a sprawling network of 4,400 EV chargers across 36 charging superhubs, BluSmart is not only contributing to reducing urban pollution but also setting a precedent in the shift towards zero-emission transportation, recently enhancing its sustainability efforts through a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Tata Power Trading Company Ltd (TPTCL) to source green power.
