BMW India Launches X5 SportX Plus Starting At INR 77.9 Lakh

German Luxury car manufacturer BMW India launched the new X5 xDrive30d SportX Plus and X5 xDrive40i SportX Plus. Priced at INR 79.5 lakh and INR 77.9 lakh, respectively, they sit above the regular variants in the portfolio. The cars will be produced locally at the company’s Chennai plant and can now be booked through the online portal. Vikram Pawah, President, BMW Group India, said the BMW X5 underlines a strong appeal with its combined off-road abilities and dynamic driving pleasure. The most successful BMW sports activity vehicle (SAV) of all time now has a new, attractive addition to its line-up - BMW X5 xDrive ‘SportX Plus’. SportX Plus celebrates the gust of adrenaline with style and self-confidence. The company has added a host of driver assistance features, including Parking Assistant with a rearview camera and a new reversing assistant. The car also gets a smartphone holder, wireless charging for mobile phones, and a new 205W HiFi loudspeaker system. On the tech front, the SportX Plus series comes with the regular host of BMW ConnectedDrive technologies that include BMW Gesture Control, BMW Display Key, BMW Head-Up Display and Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It gets the modern BMW Live Cockpit Professional with the latest BMW 7.0 operating system, including 3D navigation, a high-resolution 12.3-inch instrument cluster behind the steering wheel and a control screen of the same size. The new cars get the BMW xDrive all-wheel-drive system with Electronically controlled ‘Automatic Differential Brakes/Locks’ (ADB-X), extended ‘Dynamic Traction Control’ (DTC), Hill Start Assist and Hill Descent Control. Apart from that, the cars also get adaptive suspensions with individual electronically controlled dampers. The SportX Plus cars are powered by the three-litre six-cylinder diesel engine that produces 265 hp and a maximum torque of 620 Nm at 1,500 – 2,500 rpm for the diesel variant, while the petrol-powered car gets the three-litre six-cylinder petrol engine producing 340 hp and maximum torque of 450 Nm at 1,500 – 5,200 rpm. The X5 is offered with the options of BMW Service Inclusive and BMW Service Inclusive Plus covering Condition Based Service (CBS) and maintenance work with a choice of plans from three years / 40,000 kms to ten yrs / 2,00,000 kms and start at INR 1.55 per km.
