BMW Launches Updated X3 Petrol In Two Trims

The facelifted X3 will be locally produced and is available in two trim levels, xDrive30i SportX Plus and xDrive30i M Sport, priced at INR 60 lakh and INR 66 lakh, ex-showroom, respectively.

German carmaker BMW India on Thursday announced the launch of the new X3. Available in two trim levels, xDrive30i SportX Plus and xDrive30i M Sport, the SUVs are priced (ex-showroom) at INR 59.90 lakh and INR 65.90 lakh. 

Powering the vehicle is a two-litre four-cylinder petrol engine mated to eight-speed automatic Steptronic sport transmission. The engine has been tuned to produce 252 hp and deliver a maximum torque of 350 Nm at 1,450 – 4,800 rpm. The carmaker claims that the SUV accelerates from 0 -100 km/hr in 6.6 seconds with a top speed of 235 km/h.

Vikram Pawah, President, BMW Group India, said, “Refreshed design and driving performance make BMW X3 a luxurious and practical car that is agile on and off-road.”

The updates to the car include a redesigned kidney grille, flatter headlights and the new front apron along with a revised bumper, sleeker tail-lamps and a new design for the 19-inch alloy wheels.

In terms of equipment, the updated vehicle gains some technology over the outgoing model and has adaptive LED headlamps as standard. The previously available 10.25-inch touchscreen is now standard in the base trim, while the M Sport now gets the larger 12.35-inch device with gesture control. Both systems also get BMW’s virtual assistant. A new 360-degree camera is also available for the M Sport.

Other features on offer include three-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, hands-free parking, cruise control, adaptive suspension and a Harman Kardon Sound system which are only available with the M Sport trim level.

On the safety side, the updated SUV has been fitted with six airbags, Attentiveness Assistance, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) including Cornering Brake Control (CBC), electric parking brake with auto hold, side-impact protection, electronic vehicle immobiliser and crash sensor, ISOFIX child seat mounting and integrated emergency spare wheel under the load floor among others.
