DTC Adds 400 Tata Motors Starbus EVs To Its Fleet

Tata Motors has supplied 400 Starbus EV buses to be inducted into the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) fleet through its subsidiary TML CV Mobility Solutions. This order comes as a part of a larger order from DTC to supply and operate 1,500 low-floor air-conditioned electric buses for a year.

The fleet was flagged off by Vinai Kumar Saxena, Lieutenant Governor of Delhi and Arvind Kejriwal, Chief Minister of Delhi, on 5th September 2023. Also present at the flag-off was Shilpa Shinde, Managing Director, DTC. She mentioned that this addition of 400 electric buses will make mass mobility safer, smarter and greener across the National Capital Territory. In addition to providing ready access, more comfort and greater convenience to commuters, these next-gen buses will also contribute to collective efforts to improve the city’s air quality.

The Starbus EV optimises energy consumption, reducing energy usage and operational costs. It offers easy boarding, comfortable seating and driver-friendly operations while ensuring zero emissions. Equipped with electronic stability control, electronic brake distribution, air suspension, Intelligent Transport System (ITS), and panic button, among other advanced features, it prioritises comfort and safety for its commuters.
