Design changes

Like its elder brother, the C3 Aircross, the C3 retains the silhouette of the current global model but gets new headlamps, bumpers, wheels and tail lamps. The cabin has got an even bigger upgrade in the form of a new touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, seats and centre console. The dashboard has been placed lower and gives out a philosophy of minimalism.

Powertrains

The European market will get hybrid powertrains for the first time with the C3 in the form of a 48V battery and electric motor mated to a 1.2-litre petrol engine and a six-speed DCT. Pictures also reveal a six-speed manual on offer.

However, the Indian market is expected to continue with the 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol as well as the 1.2-litre turbo petrol. Depending on what you choose, it’s either a five-speed manual or a six-speed manual. Citroen is also expected to introduce a six-speed AT that’s already on offer with the turbo petrol in the C3 Aircross.

What’s coming to India from these updates?

We are placing our money on the exterior and the interior design elements sans the minimalist instrument cluster. It’s expected to continue with the same powertrains and safety list of which the latter will be upgraded by the end of this year to include six airbags across the range.
