GODI India Private Limited, a leading lithium-ion cell R&D and manufacturer headquartered in Hyderabad, has secured LFP BIS certification for its Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) Li-ion cells. The announcement was made at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

This certification, conforming to IS 16046 Part-2:2018 / IEC 62133-2:2017 standards, marks a significant step forward in the company’s commitment to innovation in advanced energy storage devices, particularly for electric vehicle (EV) and renewable energy storage system (ESS) applications.

The company had previously achieved acclaim by developing in-house NMC811 cathode material-based Li-ion cells, BIS certified in mid-2022. The company is known for pioneering large Farad (2.7V-3000F) supercapacitors for surge power applications. With plans to establish large-scale indigenous GIGA scale cell manufacturing of NMC and LFP for EV, ESS, and Defense, GODI's focus on Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) material aims to reduce India's dependence on imported LFP batteries.

Mahesh GODI, Founder and CEO of GODI India, said, The company aims to establish extensive indigenous manufacturing facilities for GIGA scale production of NMC & LFP cells, catering to the electric vehicle (EV), energy storage system (ESS), and defence sectors in India, Europe, and the USA.

The LFP cells, with an energy density exceeding 150 Wh/kg, exceptional charge-discharge rates, and a service life surpassing 2,000 cycles, underscore the company’s technical prowess. The certification validates the company's commitment to a self-reliant and sustainable future for energy storage in India.
