To combat counterfeit engine oil Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has taken initiative in West Bengal, demonstrating its commitment to customer safety and brand integrity. The operation, conducted in collaboration with Kolkata Police and other agencies, targeted entities involved in the production and distribution of fake engine oil products that pose risks to vehicle performance and safety.

The covert operation resulted in three successful raids in Kolkata, specifically at Jorasanko, Nilmoni Mitra Street, and Patiatloa Lane, leading to the seizure of over 8,000 counterfeit products, including lubricants, die-cast components, printing plates, packaging materials, labels, and empty containers.

Counterfeit engine oil poses serious threats such as engine damage, reduced fuel efficiency, and increased emissions, compromising the safety and performance of vehicles. HMSI's proactive move aims to protect customers from these dangers and emphasise the importance of using genuine engine oil, a release from the company added.
