Hyundai Motor India has announced that it will commence the bookings for the Ioniq 5 from December 20 onwards. Based on the company’s E-GMP, the Ioniq 5 will feature a high-speed electric motor delivering a top speed of 185 km/h.

With the use of a 5-link rear suspension, the platform can deliver superior ride comfort and handling. With E-GMP, customers can charge up to 80 % in 18 Minutes (with a 350 kW DC charger).

On the design front, the EV will feature a set of Parametric Pixel LED headlamps and Parametric Pixel R20 alloy wheels, while on the inside, it gets magnetic dashboard, drawer-type glovebox and full glass panel roof.

Notably, bio paint is used on the car’s surface, such as crash pad, switches, steering wheel and door panels that includes oil extractions from plants such as rapeseed flowers and corn, while eco-processed leather used in the interior is dyed using flaxseed oil.

Besides, the car also uses headlining and carpet fabric which includes bio components extracted from sugarcane and corn, eco-friendly fabric for seats and handrest, created using up to 32 plastic bottles that are shredded into plastic chips and 100% recyclable paperette from HDPE.

Unsoo Kim, MD & CEO, Hyundai Motor India, said, “Ioniq is a brand that we have developed specifically for dedicated BEV models. The car has been developed on the dedicated E-GMP platform and reflects the company’s global vision of ‘Progress for Humanity’, epitomising our pursuit of quality time,' he added.
