Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI), a prominent player in the Indian two-wheeler market, marks a significant achievement today as it crosses the milestone of six crore domestic sales.

Honda made its foray into the Indian market with the introduction of its first two-wheeler, the Activa, in 2001, marking the beginning of an illustrious journey. Since then, the company has achieved numerous milestones, consistently delivering a diverse lineup of world-class products tailored to meet the evolving needs of Indian consumers.

Six Crore Strong

Honda's journey to six crore domestic sales reflects its relentless pursuit of excellence and unwavering dedication to customer satisfaction. Starting retail operations in June 2001, Honda took eleven years to reach its first one crore customers, a pace that tripled over the next three years to achieve the two crore mark. The company reached the three crore milestone in April 2017, and the subsequent three crore customers joined the Honda family in just under seven years.

Iconic Offerings

Central to this milestone are Honda's iconic offerings, the Activa and Shine, which have garnered widespread acclaim for their reliability, performance, and advanced features. The Activa and the Shine motorcycle have emerged as top choices for Indian consumers, setting new benchmarks in their segments and significantly contributing to HMSI's success story.

Tsutsumu Otani, MD, President & CEO, HMSI, said, “This milestone is a testament to the trust and confidence that Indian consumers have placed in brand Honda. As we look ahead, we remain dedicated to exceeding customer expectations and contributing positively to the growth of the Indian two-wheeler industry.”
