Kia India Crosses One Million Production Mark

As a part of the one million celebrations, the company also unveiled its vision for the future “Inspiring Mobility Solutions that enrich lives,” with a focus on providing an inspiring mobility experience to the discerning new-age Indian customer.

Kia India has announced the crossing of the one-millionth production mark since it started its operations from its manufacturing facility at Anantapur by rolling out the first unit of its new Seltos.

A press release from the carmaker noted that the celebration also marks the production commencement of the new Seltos, whose bookings are commencing today. 

As a part of the one million celebrations, the company also unveiled its vision for future “Inspiring Mobility Solutions that enrich lives.” Under this, it will focus on providing an inspiring mobility experience to the discerning new-age Indian customer.

It aims to transform into Kia 2.0 by garnering a 10% market share soon with new segment entries, customer-centric innovations and expanding the network from 300 to 600 salespoints.

Tae-Jin Park, Managing Director and CEO, Kia India, said, “I feel that the future is bright for Kia India, and the new Seltos marks the beginning of an exhilarating chapter as we continue to drive towards automotive excellence in the Indian market.”

Kia entered the Indian market with the launch of the Seltos in August 2019. In 46 months, it achieved the remarkable milestone of 500,000 sales. The carmaker expanded its product portfolio with the Carnival and Sonet in 2020, followed by the Carens and EV6 in 2022.

The facility at Anantapur has so far manufactured over 532,450 units of Seltos, followed by 332,450 units of the Sonet, 120,516 units of the Carens and 14,584 units of the Carnival.

Through its 'Lifestyle Management' programme, the OEM provides its employees access to a diverse range of experts who can offer guidance and support for their physical and mental well-being.
