Kia Unveils New Sonet In India With Enhanced Safety Standards And ADAS Level 1

The highlight of the updated compact SUV is the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), featuring ten autonomous functionalities, including Front Collision Avoidance Assist (FCA), Leading Vehicle Departure Alert (LVDA), and Lane Following Assist (LFA).


Kia Sonet Mobility Outlook

Kia India, has unveiled the latest iteration of its second best-selling model, the Sonet. Launched first in India, this revamped compact SUV caters to the preferences of modern couples and tech-savvy professionals seeking a comprehensive mobility solution.

The highlight of the updated compact SUV is the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), featuring ten autonomous functionalities, including Front Collision Avoidance Assist (FCA), Leading Vehicle Departure Alert (LVDA), and Lane Following Assist (LFA). Additionally, the new Sonet gets 15 standard safety features, including 6 airbags, the Sonet stands as the sole compact SUV in its segment to offer such comprehensive safety measures.

In addition to the on-board safety features, the company is also introducing 'Kia Inspiring Drive Program' (K.I.D), driven by technology and accessible through the 'Kia Connect' app. With this Kia will evaluate owners' driving behaviour and assigns an Ecoscore, redeemable for rewards. Initially launched for Sonet owners, this programme will be introduced to other models.

In response to customer feedback, Kia India has reintroduced Manual Transmission across all variants with Diesel powertrain, providing diverse options for consumers. The New Sonet now offers a range of transmission options, including 5MT, 6MT, 6iMT, 7DCT, and 6AT, catering to different preferences and driving needs.

Tae-Jin Park, Managing Director and CEO, Kia India, said that with the New Sonet, the company aims to integrate premium features with a value-driven ownership experience, emphasizing minimal maintenance costs and high resale value. The objective is to secure a leading position in the Compact SUV segment.

Key highlights of exterior include new head lamp and tail amp design with LED enhancements while on the inside it gets LED ambient sound lighting, a BOSE premium 7 speaker system, and a dual screen connected panel design.

In addition, Kia Connect, with over 70 Connected Car features, adds a layer of convenience, safety, and vehicle management.
