Lumax Cornaglia Auto Technologies (LCAT), a subsidiary/joint venture between Lumax Auto Technologies and Cornaglia s.p.a., Italy, has marked a significant milestone by inaugurating a new manufacturing facility in Chakan, Pune. LCAT specialises in providing emission products such as Air Filters and Fuel Tanks for both two-wheelers and four-wheelers.

The facility, covering 2.5 lakh sq ft includes a dedicated 7,000 sq ft in-house R&D laboratory. Representing a comprehensive solution for complete vehicle-level emission products, the facility caters to the requirements of auto Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) in India and beyond. The initial investment in this venture surpasses INR 30 crore.

Employing over 200 individuals, including 30 skilled engineers, the facility positions itself as a crucial contributor to meeting the emission product demands of the Indian auto industry.

Equipped with modern precision European machines, the facility excels in high-quality production for a diverse product range, including Air Filtration Systems, Snorkels, Blow Moulded products like AdBlue Tanks and Degassing Tanks, among others. Notably, it marks the first-time manufacturing of Plastic Fuel Tanks for commercial vehicles. The facility will also employ niche technology for 3D Blow Moulding products like Hoses & Ducts, ensuring compliance with the regulations laid by the Government of India and CAFÉ and RDE norms.

Additionally, LCAT has entered the roto-moulding segment for manufacturing plastic fuel tanks, fenders, roofs, and mudguards, along with design and development facilities.

The brownfield construction prioritises eco-friendliness, incorporating solar panels covering the roof with a capacity of 990KV and water recycling. Apart from sales, product management, research and development, laboratory, machining, and assembly, the facility includes a large warehouse aimed at Just-in-Time (JIT) services for customers.

LCAT's major customers include Tata Motors, Skoda Volkswagen India, Toyota India & Indonesia, Mahindra, Stellantis, MG Motors, SEAT, Skoda Czech, and VW Poland.
