Maruti Suzuki Produced 159,955 Units in April 2021

The country's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India on Wednesday said its total production in April stood at 159955 units. The company had produced zero units in the same month last year due to nationwide lockdown, Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) said in a regulatory filing.

Passenger vehicle production stood at 157,585 units last month.Production of mini cars comprising Alto and S-Presso models were at 29056 units. 

Similarly, the manufacturing of compact cars, comprising WagonR, Celerio, Ignis, Swift, Baleno, Dzire, stood at 83432 units. 

Production of utility vehicles --  Ertiga, S-Cross, Vitara Brezza and XL6 stood at 31,059 units. 

MSI said production of its light commercial vehicle Super Carry stood at 2370 units. 

The above production data also includes production from Suzuki Motor Gujarat Private Limited and vehicles manufactured for sale to other OEM. 

The carmaker has currently shut down its plant for annual maintenance and for diverting oxygen to hospitals.
