SAIC-owned, MG Motor India gets 5,000 bookings for their mid-size SUV, Astor. With deliveries starting from November 1, 2021, the carmaker aims to deliver all the orders before the end of this calendar.

Rajeev Chaba, President & MD, MG Motor India, said, “We are ecstatic about the response we have received from the customers. However, given the global chip crisis that the industry is undergoing, we can only supply a limited number of cars this year. We expect supplies to become better from Q1 next year.”

Customers can now book Astor for 2022 through the company’s official website or by visiting a showroom.

With the Astor, customers can choose between variants starting from Style, going up to Super, Smart, and the top-of-the-line Sharp, which is further subdivided into nine variants based on engine and transmission options.

Launched at INR 9.78 lakh, the SUV boasts of being India’s first SUV with a personal AI assistant and first-in-segment Autonomous (Level-2) technology, and 80+ other connected car features.

Additionally, the Smart and Sharp models are available with Astor’s i-SMART technology, including more than 80 linked car functions. The 220Turbo AT and the VTI-tech CVT transmission for the Sharp version will have ADAS with Autonomous Level-2 features as an optional pack.

Furthermore, the vehicle comes with a segment-first 3-60 programme, which is an assured buyback option that allows consumers to receive 60% of Astor's ex-showroom price after three years of ownership.
