MG Motor India on Friday announced that the Comet EV will be available in three trim levels, Pace, Play and Plush priced at an introductory ex-showroom price of INR 7.98 lakh, INR 9.28 lakh and INR 9.98 lakh, respectively. Notably, the prices are applicable to the first 5,000 bookings, Gaurav Gupta CCO, MG Motor India.
The bookings for the EV commence on May 15, 2023, while the deliveries will begin on May 22, 2023, in a phased manner. Interestingly, MG Motor India has introduced a ‘Trace and Track’ facility for the EV wherein the customers can track the details of their vehicle starting from the production stage to the actual delivery.
Moreover, the company also offers MG e-Shield with the EV under which customers get three years or one lakh kilometre warranty, three free services and three years of free roadside assistance, while the vehicle battery comes with eight years or 1.2 kms warranty. Additionally, more add-on services can be opted for INR 5,000.
MG is also offering a buyback programme under which the customers are assured of getting 60% of the vehicle cost after three years.
Based on the SAIC group’s GSEV platform, the Comet EV packs in an IP 67-rated 17.3 kWh lithium-ion battery pack with prismatic cells, which aids the vehicle to run a claimed distance of 230 kms.
