New age EV maker, Omega Seiki Mobility jointly with Log9 Materials has launched its upgraded flagship ‘Rage+ RapidEV Pro’ in two cargo body volume including 140 cubic ft and 170 cubic ft variants.

A release from OSM said the product is powered by Log9’s 7.7 kWh battery, the RapidX 8000, enabling the vehicle to achieve a claimed range of 95 km and a charging time of 45 minutes from empty to full. Additionally, the company also claims that the vehicle can operate across very wide temperatures ranging from -40° C to +60° C.

Besides launching the new product, both parties also tied-up with fleet operators like MoEVing in Delhi and LetsTransport in Bengaluru and will deploy 5,000 units of these vehicles in FY23, starting from New Delhi and Bengaluru.

Uday Narang, Founder and Chairman, Omega Seiki Mobility said that the company is expanding its operations with the launch of new facilities and products. “Our aim is to change the face of mobility in the country and to create fast charging solutions for our upcoming trucks and tractors,” he added.

Kartik Hajela, Co-Founder & COO, Log9 Materials said, “With e-commerce off late spreading its influence into new markets such as Tier II, where the charging infra is scarcely and rarely available, vehicles such as the Rage+ Pro that are able to run long distances on a single charge will be key enablers for faster adoption of EVs.”

Interestingly in November 2021, OSM and Log9 jointly launched the Rage+ RapidEV, which was integrated with Log9’s 5.8 KWh battery. Alongside the launch, the new products were also flagged off in Bengaluru and Delhi in collaboration with the partnered fleet operators.

Vikas Mishra, Founder and CEO, MoEVing said that well designed electric vehicles with high-quality batteries are extremely important for the EV sector.

On the other hand, Pushkar Singh, CEO, Lets Transport said low operational and maintenance costs are leading to EVs playing a pivotal role in intra-city and last-mile logistics. The company aims at strengthening the EV ecosystem by enabling financing of EVs, partnering with different CPOs and CSO, as well as enabling a marketplace for the resale of EVs in the near future, he said.
