RACE Energy Expands In Sri Lanka mobility outlook

RACE Energy has embarked on its international expansion journey with a strategic pilot launch in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Partnering with Lanka E-Mobility Solutions (Private) Limited (LeMS), RACE Energy aims to revolutionise Sri Lanka's electric mobility landscape through its innovative 'e-wheel' battery swapping initiative.

The ambitious goal is to scale up to 500 vehicles within the next 3-6 months, providing a 'pay-as-you-go' solution that benefits 1.2 million of Sri Lanka's iconic 'Tuk' drivers.

Arun Sreyas, Co-Founder of RACE Energy, highlighted the company's commitment to offering advanced, light, safe, and energy-dense swappable batteries. The decision to expand into Sri Lanka was driven by shared market dynamics and environmental concerns between India and Sri Lanka, coupled with the urgent need for electric solutions in the face of petrol shortages in Lanka.

Gautham Maheswaran, Co-Founder of RACE Energy, emphasised the company's track record in Hyderabad's EV market, where RACE has become a leader, catering to over 50% of the region's EV segment and facilitating over 1,000 daily swaps. The successful receipt of the AIS 156 Phase-2 certifications further solidifies RACE's position in the industry.

Shirendra Lawrence, Co-Founder and Director of Lanka e-Mobility Solutions (LeMS), expressed delight in making RACE Energy's cutting-edge battery-swapping technology accessible to Sri Lanka's vast three-wheeler owner population. The conversion process, which includes replacing conventional petrol engines with new electric motors and drivetrains, takes just two hours, allowing vehicles to immediately benefit from RACE's battery-swapping services.

RACE Energy's technology enables instant battery swaps, addressing challenges such as high vehicle costs, long charging times, and range anxiety. With an impressive track record of completing 5 million green kilometers and facilitating 1,000 daily swaps on its network, RACE Energy continues to significantly impact the EV space, promising a more accessible and convenient future for electric mobility in Sri Lanka and beyond.
