Recaro Aircraft Seating, a global supplier of premium aircraft seats for airlines, has unveiled a new overwing exit seat.

This allows increased passenger count while maintaining the 13-inch European Union Aviation Safety Agency and the US Federal Aviation Administration requirements for the passageway.

With the X-Tend Seat, A320 operators will be able to increase seating from 190 to 194 passengers. Recaro Aircraft Seating is targeting short and mid-range economy cabin configurations for the narrow-body Airbus A320 family with the new seat.

Dr. Mark Hiller, CEO of Recaro Aircraft Seating and Recardo Holding said the design collaboration with Airbus was unlike anything seen on the market and was an important step in the partnership.
