Pune-based supplier of automation equipment, conveyors and robots, PAPL has announced its entry into the Electric Vehicle (EV) industry with Evtric Motors.  

Under Evtric Motors, PAPL will manufacture and sell electric scooters, bicycles, electric bikes and electric 3-wheelers. Towards this, the company has announced an investment of around INR 100 crore in a phased manner.  

Manoj Patil, MD & Founder, Evtric, said that its expertise in automation and manufacturing in the automobile sector could contribute much to the EV foray. The company aims to offer attractive products at competitive prices to Indian customers and promote localisation to contribute to the e-mobility vision.

The company has set up its manufacturing facility in Chakan-Pune and has implemented high-end automation processes to maintain quality and time efficiency.  

The manufacturing plant has an installed capacity of 1.5 lakh units per year. 

As a part of its initial expansion plan, Evtric has already started onboarding dealers and decided to have its presence in Maharashtra, Gujrat, Tamil Nadu, Andhra, Telangana, Kerala, Karnataka, Delhi- NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, and West Bengal by the end of FY22
