Leading global supplier to the automotive and industrial sectors, Schaeffler has announced the appointment of Poo-Jiuan Eng as Senior Vice President of Human Resources Asia Pacific.

According to a press release from the company, Eng will be based at Schaeffler’s regional headquarters for the Asia Pacific in Singapore and oversee about 6,000 employees across 18 markets while providing the necessary resource to ensure operational excellence and drive the overall HR strategy within the Asia Pacific region.

Eng’s appointment comes as Schaeffler Asia Pacific continues to strengthen its diversity management strategy and employee engagement in the region. The organisation recently introduced its Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) council to provide the necessary structures in anchoring diversity management over the long term.

Eng brings more than 25 years of Human Resources regional experience in various industrial verticals, including Aviation, Energy, Oil, and Gas. Before her appointment at Schaeffler, she was the Regional HR Director of Baker Hughes – a New York Stock Exchange-listed energy technology company. There, she led several HR reorganisation efforts, including integrating GE Oil & Gas business with Baker Hughes and HR transformation efforts that supported the company’s business transitions.

Dharmesh Arora, Regional CEO, Asia Pacific, Schaeffler, said, “As we look to develop our talents in the region, I am excited to welcome Ms. Eng as a key member of our management team where her expertise, HR leadership, and experience would bring valuable and actionable insights in enabling our employees to contribute to Schaeffler with their full potential.”

Eng said, “As Schaeffler continues to expand its efforts in diversity management, I am excited to join Schaeffler and support their business growth and development. I look forward to fostering an environment where employees can excel and achieve collaborative progress.”
