Skoda Auto Starts LHD Kushaq Production In India

The ‘Made in India’ Skoda Kushaq LHD will be exported to global markets shortly. Earlier in February, the group began exporting the Volkswagen Taigun, the first in the range of vehicles built on the MQB-A0-IN platform.

Skoda Auto Volkswagen India has announced the commencement of production for the left-hand drive Kushaq variant.

An official statement from the group stated that the ‘Made in India’ Skoda Kushaq LHD will be exported to global markets shortly. Earlier in February, Skoda Auto began exporting the Volkswagen Taigun, the first in the range of vehicles built on the MQB-A0-IN platform. 

Piyush Arora, Managing Director, Skoda Auto Volkswagen India, said, “With each new model we export, we are inching closer to our aim of making India an export hub for the VW Group globally.”

Interestingly, the group also celebrated crossing the 15,00,000 production mark at its manufacturing facilities in Pune and Aurangabad in March this year. Moreover, the group recorded its highest-ever H1 sales in India, with 52,700 units sold from January to June 2022.
