Suzuki India has been testing the V-Strom 800DE in the country for a few months, and after many speculations and teasers, the company is all set to launch its new adventure motorcycle here. The price announcement, in fact, is expected in a few days.

The V-Strom 800DE was showcased this year at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo. Suzuki used the platform to understand customer reactions and price expectations. This will be one of the most important big bike launches by Suzuki in a while.

The V-Strom 800DE is an all-new motorcycle, however, its design is inspired by Suzuki’s ADV bikes from the past, like the DR Big. This is evident from the shape of the body panels and the colour schemes. Powering the bike is a 776cc, parallel-twin engine that makes 83bhp and 78Nm. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox. It has a decent feature list as well such as a five-inch TFT display, traction control, ride modes and a bi-directional quickshifter.

The Suzuki V-Strom 800DE will sit above the V-Strom 650 in our market and is expected to be priced around the Rs 10-11 lakh, ex-showroom, mark. This will put it in the same territory as the Honda Transalp XL750 and the BMW 850 GS.
