Chennai-headquartered Tractors and Farm Equipment Limited (TAFE), a leading maker of tractors, has signalled its expansion into the technologically-advanced European markets by making a debut at AGRITECHNICA.

It reflects TAFE’s commitment to serve the specific needs of progressive farmers with its compact, utilitarian and innovative tractors and smart agriculture solutions.

TAFE made a statement with its new-age product range and well-designed booth, which featured electric compact tractors, advanced utility tractors with HVAC cabin and next-Gen modular smart farming solutions at AGRITECHNICA 2023.

TAFE’s versatile range of products and farming solutions, designed on innovative technology platforms, are aimed at serving the special requirements of European customers.The launch of the TAFE electric tractor and the display of the concept Hydrogen tractor, demonstrating its capabilities in exploring alternate fuel and sustainable solutions, are key highlights of TAFE participation at AGRITECHNICA.

TAFE’s Electric tractor is equipped with 20 kW power, highly efficient transmission, low noise power train and a powerful electric motor with very high efficiency >90%. It has a fast charge feature which is fully compatible with the European Combined Charging System - CCS2. One of the highlights of this tractor is its low maintenance cost. The TAFE electric tractor is ideal for use by municipalities, logistics and material handling businesses, besides agriculture.

TAFE 7515 comes with a robust 74 hp, 3-cylinder engine that delivers remarkable power. Designed for optimal comfort and productivity, this tractor is equipped with a 12-speed synchromesh mechanical shuttle transmission and is Euro Stage 5 compliant. It can be paired with a variety of implements such as loading wagons and trailers.

TAFE was incorporated in 1960. It has an annual sale of over 200,000 tractors and a turnover in excess of USD 1.6 billion. One of the largest tractor manufacturers in the world, TAFE makes tractors under four iconic brands - TAFE, Massey Ferguson, Eicher and IMT. TAFE is one of the leading exporters of tractors from India and powers farms in over 80 countries across the world.

It is a significant shareholder in the AGCO Corporation, USA.In 2005, TAFE acquired the tractors, engines and transmissions business of the legendary Eicher brand with German roots, through a wholly-owned subsidiary - TAFE Motors and Tractors Limited (TMTL). In addition to tractors, TAFE and its subsidiaries have diverse business interests in various sectors including farm machinery, diesel engines and generators, engineering plastics, gears and transmission components, hydraulic pumps and cylinders, vehicle franchises and plantations. TAFE acquired the iconic Serbian tractor and agricultural equipment brand IMT - Industrija Mašina i Traktora - in 2018. Furthermore, TAFE acquired FAURECIA's Indian interior business of Group FORVIA - the French global automotive supplier, in 2022.
