In a strategic move, ZF has invested in a new plant spanning over 12,000 square meters in Coimbatore, dedicated to meeting both domestic and export market demands.

ZF Group, has unveiled plans to extend its local production of transmissions and axles in Coimbatore, reinforcing its commitment to the 'Make in India' initiative by 2025. This strategic move, announced at the EXCON India 2023 event, marks a significant step in meeting the evolving needs of the construction industry in India.

The construction industry in India is undergoing a transformative phase, characterised by a growing demand for intelligent system solutions, sustainable technologies, and accelerated development cycles. ZF Group positions itself as a key player ready to address these industry shifts with its expertise in driveline technology and intelligent system solutions.

The showcase of global technologies at EXCON India 2023 underlines ZF Group's commitment to supporting the growth of the domestic industry. The company's focus on the region is evident not only through its participation in industry events but also in substantial investments aimed at expanding its local production capabilities.

ZF Group, renowned for its hydraulic and electrohydraulic braking systems, provides crucial support to customers in heavy-duty, off-highway, construction, mining, and agriculture sectors. The company's technologies contribute to lower or zero emissions and enhanced productivity at construction sites.

India's Off-Highway segment is poised for significant growth, driven by rapid urbanisation and the increasing emphasis on infrastructural connectivity. The industrialisation of the ERGOPOWER M transmission series at ZF's Coimbatore plant aligns with this growth trajectory.

In a strategic move, ZF has invested in a new plant spanning over 12,000 square meters in Coimbatore, dedicated to meeting both domestic and export market demands. This expansion enables the plant to localize the production of transmissions and axles, supporting the requirements of the domestic market while contributing to exports.

The new Coimbatore plant, in conjunction with the main hub in Germany, positions ZF to meet the future production capacity needed for the global construction equipment market's anticipated growth.

Akash Passey, President, ZF Group in India, expressed the significance of this expansion, stating, 'This new plant and localisation of transmissions and axles at our plant in Coimbatore will further our ambition of 'Make in India for the World' and 'Make in India for India.'
