Airbus Delivers Eurowing’s First A320 Neo With Airspace Cabin Design

The German low-cost carrier, Eurowings, has taken delivery of its first Airbus A320neo aircraft, featuring the new Airspace cabin design.

A communication from Airbus stated that the new Airspace cabin features unique and customisable lighting sets helping in optimising passenger relaxation in the quietest cabin in its class.

Furthermore, it also comes with a 60% larger overhead bin with redesigned sidewall panels to maximise personal space, the release added.

The low-cost carrier is an all-Airbus operator with 75 Airbus A320 family aircraft on its European network.

The A320neo family boasts of a reliability rating of 99.7% and comes with 18-inch wide seats in economy as standard. It further provides operators with a 20% reduction in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, credit to the new generation engines and Sharklet wing-tip devices.

The airframer confirmed that as of the end of February 2022, the A320neo family had received nearly 7,900 orders from over 125 customers worldwide. At present, the largest customer for the aircraft family is the Indian low-cost carrier, Indigo.

In October 2019, IndiGo placed an order for 300 aircraft taking the total order to 730 units.
