Japan Institute of Plant Maintenance (JIPM) bestows these awards to companies worldwide that excel in achieving high productivity, quality, and safety standards through TPM practices.

Amara Raja Energy & Mobility Ltd (ARE&M), formerly known as Amara Raja Batteries Ltd, has been honoured with the prestigious JIPM’s TPM Excellence Awards at the International Conference Centre in Kyoto, Japan.

JIPM recognised two units of ARE&M for their exceptional performance in implementing Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) to enhance plant efficiency. The Industrial Battery manufacturing unit received the TPM Excellence Award, while the Automotive Battery unit was acknowledged for its consistent TPM commitment.

C Narasimhulu Naidu, Chief Operations Officer of ARE&M, and other company officials accepted the awards at the event held in Kyoto. He attributed the success to the collective effort of the employees and the implementation of various improvement initiatives. He emphasised the company's commitment to world-class quality and safety standards.

TPM focuses on eliminating production losses and ensuring a safe working environment through an eight-pillar approach. Companies from 16 countries participated in this year's competition, highlighting the global recognition of ARE&M's achievements.

Harshavardhana Gourineni, Executive Director, ARE&M, outlined the company's goal to achieve further excellence and aims to receive the Special Award for all Battery plants by FY’27.

Jayadev Galla, CMD, ARE&M, reiterated ARE&M's leadership in responsible business practices and its dedication to maintaining the highest standards in operations.
