BMW India Launches New S 1000 XR mobility outlook

BMW Motorrad India has launched the new BMW S 1000 XR that boasts of blending long-distance capability with high-performance sport riding. Priced at INR 22,50,000 (ex-showroom), the new BMW S 1000 XR features a reworked in-line 4-cylinder engine, shared with the S 1000 RR, which now delivers 170 bhp at 11,000 rpm and 114 Nm of torque at 9,250 rpm. This power enables the motorcycle to accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 3.25 seconds and reach a top speed of 253 kmph. The engine’s flow-optimised geometry for the intake channels ensures smooth and powerful torque delivery, enhancing overall rideability.

The S 1000 XR boasts a redesigned seat for greater freedom of movement, especially during high-performance riding on country roads and race tracks. The new S 1000 XR offers a seat height of 850 mm, which can be lowered with optional low suspension and low seat equipment. This increases the usable length and width of the seat, allowing for better adjustment depending on riding conditions. The motorcycle’s improved ergonomics make it easier for riders to manoeuvre, providing better control on both road and track. The rear section now features new side panels and air intakes inspired by motorsports, adding a dynamic aesthetic. The radiator trim has a textured surface, and the previously black-colour “beak” fender is now painted in body colour. Additionally, the adjustable windshield ensures clear visibility, reducing helmet shake.

The new BMW S 1000 XR comes with an expanded list of standard equipment, including Touring and Dynamic packages, Riding Modes Pro, Heated Grips, and Cruise Control. The Headlight Pro ensures additional safety during night rides with its adaptive turning light, while features such as Tyre Pressure Control and Hand Protection enhance riding enjoyment and safety. The motorcycle also includes Daytime Running Lights (DRL), Keyless Ride, and a USB charging option as standard features. The optimised Shift Assistant Pro ensures higher precision when shifting gears.

For further customisation, riders can opt for the M package, which includes the exclusive Light white/M Motorsport paintwork, M Sport seat, M lightweight battery, M forged wheels, M Endurance chain, M GPS-Laptrigger, sports silencer, tinted sport windscreen, and black fuel filler cap. A comprehensive range of original BMW Motorcycle accessories is also available for further individualisation of the S 1000 XR.

The new BMW S 1000 XR is available in three colour options, Blackstorm metallic, Gravityblue metallic (with Style Sports), and Lightwhite solid paint/Motorsport (with M Package).
