BMW 5 series 50 Jahre M

As a part of the 50th anniversary of its motorsport division ‘M’, BMW India has launched the exclusive ‘50 Jahre M Edition’ of its 5 Series sedan in India at INR 67.5 lakh, ex-showroom, India.

Interestingly the car, which will be produced at its Chennai plant, is only available through the company’s website, a press release from the company stated.

The updates to the vehicle include darker exterior additions with black finishes to the grille, wheels, exhaust finishers and window trim, while the new celebratory BMW M badges have replaced the company badge.

Also, the celebratory edition gets Laserlight headlamps instead of the adaptive LEDs on the 530Ii, on which the limited edition is based on.

On the inside, the only notable change remains the black accents over the control switches and the centre console.

Besides this, it also gets a 12.3-inch instrument cluster with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto along with BMW Live Cockpit Professional with OS 7.0 including 3D Navigation, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 16 speaker Harman Kardon Surround Sound System and wireless phone charger to name a few.

Powered by the 2-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine from the BMW 530i mated to an eight-speed Steptronic sport automatic transmission, the sedan generates maximum output of 252 hp and peak torque of 350 Nm.
