BorgWarner has clinched a significant contract with a major Chinese OEM to supply its cutting-edge dual inverter with boost function for a range of plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and range-extended electric vehicle (REEV) passenger car platforms. This strategic collaboration marks a significant expansion of its product portfolio with the OEM, representing the move with the introduction of the first 400V dual inverter with boost function.

The dual inverter with boost function is intricately designed to meet the hybrid architecture standards prevalent in the Chinese market. By directly integrating the boost module into the 400V dual inverter, BorgWarner achieves higher power density, complying with local hybrid architecture standards and demonstrating the company's commitment to technological innovation.

Dr Stefan Demmerle, President and General Manager of BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems, stated, 'As the hybrid vehicle market share continues to grow in China, supplying advanced technology like our boosted dual inverter to support and amplify OEM hybrid vehicle production is crucial.'
