The Government of Karnataka will host EXCON 2023 and the event is set to showcase the construction industry's ambitious goal of achieving over 15% year-on-year growth in the next five years.

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has announced EXCON 2023, exhibition for construction equipment, scheduled for December 12-16, 2023, at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre.

The Government of Karnataka will host EXCON 2023 and the event is set to showcase the construction industry's ambitious goal of achieving over 15% year-on-year growth in the next five years.

The Indian Construction Equipment Manufacturers' Association (ICEMA) is the sector partner for EXCON 2023, with support from the Infrastructure Equipment Skill Council (IESC) and the Builders Association of India (BAI).

In 2023, the construction industry is poised for a technological revolution, driven by innovations such as Generative AI. This advanced technology is optimizing design processes, fostering efficient and innovative designs. The construction equipment industry's target of 15% year-on-year growth reflects their commitment to providing cutting-edge machinery to support the industry's transformation, emphasizing sustainability, efficiency, and precision in construction projects.

India's economic progress is closely tied to the vitality of the infrastructure sector, with the government allocating INR 10 lakh crore ($ 130.57 billion) to strengthen it. This commitment includes recognizing the potential of technology within the construction landscape. Under the PMAY-U technology sub-mission, the government has identified 54 innovative global technologies, paving the way for a more inclusive roadmap for all stakeholders.

The event, which spans 30 lakh sq. ft of display area, is expected to draw over 1200 exhibitors from India and abroad, including countries such as Austria, China, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Romania, Russia, South Korea, Spain, Sri Lanka, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, and the United States of America.

Deepak Garg, Managing Director of Sany Heavy Industry India Pvt Ltd, said, 'We are thrilled to present the Twelfth Edition of EXCON, embracing the theme 'Building India's Tomorrow.' This theme embodies the core principles of Technology, Globalization, Sustainability, and Inclusiveness.”

EXCON 2023 will feature several highlights, including a focus on Alternate Fuels, AI Pavilion, Aatma Nirbhar Bharat, Skills, Women operating construction equipment and machinery, Conferences on Defence & Paramilitary, Green Construction focusing on Sustainability, AI & IOT, and Automation in the Construction Engineering Sector.

The event serves as a dual-purpose platform, providing opportunities for marketing and education to all stakeholders. Government officials and senior bureaucrats leverage it as an educational forum for multiple departments, facilitating the nation's accelerated infrastructure development requirements.

EXCON 2023 will highlight leading construction equipment manufacturers as they showcase the adaptability of their machinery and the advancement of construction technologies. Exhibitors will present economical solutions aimed at accelerating project execution while upholding quality, safety, and environmental sustainability standards.

Prominent organisations participating in the event include JCB, BKT, Caterpillar, Imperial Auto, Jindal Steel & Power, Gulf Oil, Kobelco, KYB, Larsen and Toubro, Puzzolana, Sany, Schwing Stetter, Syemco, Tata Hitachi, Ammann, Case, Doosan, Epiroc, Fiori, GNU, Nail Stone, Hyundai, ITR, Liebherr, Propel, Rockcut, Walvoil, Wipro, and Yuken India, along with OEMs, component manufacturers, and other allied industry organisations.
