EKA Mobility, the electric vehicle arm of Pinnacle Industries, will deploy Level 2 autonomy with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) provided by NuPort Robotics in its electric bus. Consequently, there will be a seamless driving experience with NuPort’s AI-enabled autonomous solutions on EKA’s EV platform.

The two will release a working demonstration of its ADAS functionality shortly, stated a press release. Over the next few years, the technology will be used on 5,000 EKA Mobility electric buses. It will strive to reduce accident rates significantly in the coming years.

The driver will also be alerted in the event of an impending collision with a nearby vehicle and can avoid potentially dangerous situations.

Sudhir Mehta, Chairman, EKA and Pinnacle Industries, said the company believes in ‘think global and act local’. The partnership strengthens the vision to “transform our country’s public transportation”, while making it technologically advanced, efficient and safe.

Raghavender Sahdev, CEO, NuPort Robotics, added that the company would deploy the technology with EKA across India in the coming years.
