Hero MotoCorp Achieves Robust Growth Dec 2023 mobility outlook

Hero MotoCorp has reported impressive sales figures for the period spanning January to December 2023. The company sold more than 54.99 lakh units during this period, marking a significant 5% growth compared to the same period in 2022 when it had sold 52.47 lakh units.

In December 2023 alone, Hero MotoCorp dispatched 393,952 units of motorcycles and scooters. The company attributes this positive momentum to increased government spending, improved liquidity, encouraging farm activity, and the upcoming marriage season. With these factors in play, Hero MotoCorp anticipates a continued surge in the fourth quarter of the fiscal year.

The appointment of Vivek Anand as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Rachna Kumar as the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) aims to bolster the company's management and strategic capabilities.

In terms of partnerships, Hero MotoCorp announced a collaboration with Ather Energy to establish an interoperable fast-charging network across India. This partnership will allow electric vehicle users to seamlessly access both VIDA and Ather grids, covering 100 cities with over 1900 fast-charging points.

The company also unveiled its team for the Dakar Rally 2024 under Hero MotoSports Team Rally. A squad of four Rally GP class pilots, including Joan Barreda Bort, Joaquim Rodrigues, Ross Branch, and Sebastian Buhler, will represent the only Indian team at the prestigious event.

Reflecting on the product launches and business initiatives in 2023, Hero MotoCorp introduced several new models, expanded its market presence, and engaged in strategic alliances. Notable launches include the high-tech 100cc scooter Xoom, the Super Splendor XTEC in the 125cc segment, and the adventure motorcycle XPulse 200 4 Valve, among others.
