Upcoming Scooter Teaser shared by HMSI

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) is gearing up to launch a new scooter in India. The company has started teasing pictures of its upcoming scooter launch on social media and on its website.

This upcoming HMSI scooter is probably the Activa 7G, as the leadership of the OEM was very enthusiastic while answering questions about Honda Activa's future on the sidelines of the company's CB300F launch. Atsushi Ogata, Managing Director, President & CEO, HMSI, while answering questions from the media at the launch, noted that the Honda Activa brand will be sustained for at least five to six more years.

Electric vehicle launches are also off the radar of HMSI at the moment, and the OEM might not introduce any electric scooters in India for at least two more years. The present Honda Activa, in its sixth generation, was launched on 15 January 2020 in India.

Over 17 lakh units of Honda Activa were sold in India during the last financial year. Notably, it was the highest-selling scooter model in India last financial year.

HMSI, as revealed by the OEM's Ex-director Yadvinder Singh Guleria, is also working on a 100 cc motorcycle for India. The company's recent CB300F street fighter is aimed at increasing the OEM's share in the 250cc to 350cc market in India.
