Honda Advances Logistics In Bengaluru With New Spare Parts Facility mobility outlook

Honda marked a significant milestone in its operations in India with the ground-breaking ceremony of a new state-of-the-art spare parts warehouse in Doddaballapura, near Bengaluru, Karnataka. This strategic move aims to bolster Honda’s logistics for its diverse range of products, including two-wheelers, four-wheelers, and power products.

Scheduled to be operational by the first quarter of FY 2025-26, this logistics hub is poised to significantly enhance the availability and delivery speed of spare parts across Southern India.

Takuya Tsumura, President & CEO of Honda Cars India Ltd, emphasised the strategic importance of the new facility. “We are committed to ensuring timely and efficient access to spare parts for all our customers. This facility is not just a step towards enhancing our service capability in the region but also aligns with our vision for future technological advancements, including electrification,” he stated during the ceremony.

Located strategically in Doddaballapura, the facility benefits from close proximity to key transport nodes such as the Bengaluru International Airport and major urban centres. This placement is expected to streamline operations and reduce delivery times significantly, boosting overall customer satisfaction.

The design of the warehouse underscores Honda’s commitment to sustainability and efficiency. The facility will incorporate several green initiatives such as rainwater harvesting, a drinking water treatment plant, and a sewage treatment plant. Additionally, the design features will optimise natural lighting and air circulation, reducing the reliance on artificial energy sources.

Furthermore, the facility’s ergonomic layout is designed to maximise productivity and maintain the highest safety standards, utilising modern equipment and technologies. This approach not only enhances operational efficiency but also ensures a safer working environment for staff.

This new development is a part of Honda’s broader strategy to strengthen its logistical backbone across India. By augmenting its existing network with this new facility, Honda aims to ensure that its customer service keeps pace with its sales growth and product expansion, particularly in the rapidly evolving automotive landscape.

The project’s construction will be overseen by the Sumitomo Mitsui Construction Company (SMCC), which brings international expertise to the ambitious project, ensuring that the construction adheres to global best practices in both building and environmental sustainability.

This initiative by Honda represents a significant investment in improving its operational efficiencies and customer service capabilities, promising a faster and more reliable supply chain for dealers and customers alike across the region.
