Maruti Suzuki Launches New Celerio At INR 4.99 Lakh

The new Celerio comes with dual airbags, and ABS with EBD and hill hold assist. It is powered by the next-generation 1.0L K-Series, Dual VVT engine with Idle Start-Stop technology.

India’s largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) on Wednesday, launched the new Celerio at starting ex-showroom price of INR 4.99 lakh. The mid hatchback is based on the Heartect fifth-generation platform, which extensively uses high tensile steel. 

The new Celerio comes with dual airbags, and ABS with EBD and hill hold assist. It is powered by the next-generation 1.0L K-Series, Dual VVT engine with Idle Start-Stop technology.

The engine churns out 49kW of power at 5,500rpm and 89 Nm of torque at 3,500 rpm.  In addition to the increased power, the vehicle now has an ARAI certified mileage of 26.60 km/l. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission or an AGS.

The hatchback is targeted to lure young and dynamic urban consumers aged between 24 and 35 years. It will compete with the likes of Hyundai Santro and Tata Tiago. 

The new hatchback will come with a 7-inch SmartPlay studio infotainment system with smartphone navigation, engine push start, and smart key.
