“The future is about immersive experience,” Gaurav Gupta, Chief Commercial Officer, MG Motors India, said while showcasing the company’s own metaverse, MG Verse.

Expected to go live in the festive season of the current year in the first phase, the platform will combine multiple virtual platforms under one, Gupta said.

At present, it showcases five experience centres, including Explore & Creator’s Center, NFT Gallery, MG Car Club, Gaming Arena and MG Knowledge Centre. The CCO noted that the company plans to add more experience centres as it nears the launch of the MG Verse.

Through Explore & Creator’s Center, users can personalise, accessorise and build their vehicle in the Metaverse. It will also allow customers to take a virtual test drive in the cities and streets of their preference.

The platform will also allow customers to book their MG cars from the comfort of their homes, a release from the company said.

The NFT Gallery will allow users to witness the company’s collections on display and enable them to collaborate & co-create, list, and transact NFTs on the platform.

Additionally, it will also give an opportunity to individuals and creators to create their own NFT and earn, the release said. The NFT platform has been created in partnership with coinearth, Gupta confirmed.

While with the MG Car Club, the members of MGCC will be able to connect and engage through members-only events and concerts. Further, this will also allow them to buy official merchandise from MGverse.

In the Gaming Arena, the user can choose their racetrack to race or play other games, while the MG Knowledge Centre will provide opportunities to the company employees and partners for upskilling and attending virtual training sessions, conferences and meetings, among other activities.

The platform will be accessible on mobile and other web browsers, and the carmaker intends to make similar experiences available for VR (Virtual Reality) headsets, it noted.

Gupta said, “This initiative will help us further strengthen our relationship with GenZ and Gen Alpha. With MGverse, we will build upon our virtual customer experience content to familiarise the future generation with innovative brand experiences.”
