Mitsubishi Electric India Power Semiconductors intends to collaborate with highly impactful institutions to empower the youth to develop indigenous technologies.


Mitsubishi Electric India Power Semiconductors - IIT Madras Research Park

Mitsubishi Electric India Power Semiconductors has signed an MoU with IIT Madras Research Park to support the programmes conducted by the institute for the research and development of sustainable technologies.

Through this partnership, Mitsubishi Electric India Power Semiconductors aims for rapid innovation and technological upliftment in India, a press release from the company said.

Additionally, Mitsubishi Electric intends to collaborate with highly impactful institutions spread across the country to empower the youth to contribute towards developing sustainable indigenous technology for India.

Ashok Jhunjhunwala, Institute Professor & President, IIT Madras Research Park and IITM Incubation Cell, stated that ‘Make in India’ requires ‘Design in India’.

“We need the best of components to let our homegrown product compete with imported products and in the international market,” he added.

Moreover, Indian products need to be developed through the best manufacturing process and have superior quality while still being low cost, Jhunjhunwala noted.

Hitesh Bhardwaj, General Manager, Semiconductor and Devices division, Mitsubishi Electric India, said, “We envision bringing technological development in India which is achievable through this initiative of educating the youth and helping them get familiar with the new advancements.”
