Tata Motors rolled out its 50,000th EV from its Pune facility on Monday.

A company press release states that a favourable policy environment and positive word-of-mouth from existing customers have helped achieve this feat ahead of target.

Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility said, “As the pioneers of EVs in the country, the onus of ensuring successful adoption was on us. With a well calibrated product mix and strong consumer facing initiatives, we have been able to address the barriers to EV adoption.”

Tata Motors offers four products under its EV passenger vehicle portfolio: Nexon EV, Xpres-T, Tigor EV and the newly launch Tiago EV. Going forward, it is focusing on a three-phased architecture approach and plans to launch 10 EVs in five years.
