Toyota Motor Corporation Chairman, Akio Toyoda, outlined the future direction for the Toyota Group at the Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology. Emphasising the company's founding principles, Chairman Toyoda presented a vision titled 'Inventing our path forward, together,' targeting the transformation of the automotive industry.

Addressing chairmen, presidents, and frontline leaders from 17 Toyota Group companies, Toyoda stressed the need for the group to evolve in response to changing automotive concepts driven by CASE (Connected, Autonomous, Shared, Electric) technologies. The primary goal is to bring joy and happiness through diverse mobility services worldwide.

To ensure a shared vision, he introduced five attitudes for Toyota Group employees to embrace. He expressed his commitment to steering the group toward a common perspective and values. The announcement, originally planned for February 14, was expedited in light of recent irregularities at Group companies.

Toyoda outlined the group's starting point as the desire to 'make ever-better things that make many people happy,' rooted in the spirit of invention. He urged the group to think of others, hone skills, and create products that contribute to society. The historic significance of the Toyota Group, which began with Sakichi Toyoda's invention of the Toyoda wooden hand loom in 1890, was highlighted.

Looking ahead, he aims to lead the group's transformation, fostering a culture of gratitude and relevance for the future. The Toyota Group's history and core mission of making people smile through innovation form the foundation for this vision.

Toyoda concluded with a call to 'bring smiles to the faces of people all over the world' and to 'invent our path forward, together' as members of the Toyota Group.
