C4V, the U.S.A.-based Li-Ion battery technology company, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Hindalco Industries for the production and supply of battery grade aluminium foils, coated foils, and structural components for Li-ion cells, catering to the EV battery materials market.

The collaboration aims to facilitate the development and supply of crucial components for Li-ion cells, addressing the surging demand for EV battery materials in the Indian market.

The MOU outlines a comprehensive framework for cooperation between C4V and Hindalco, encompassing the provision of up to 2,000 tons of battery foil by Hindalco to C4V over a five-year period.

Beyond the supply agreement, the partnership also establishes a strategic roadmap, focusing on collaborative efforts in materials and joint technology development. This strategic alignment is designed to meet the evolving requirements of the Indian EV market, emphasizing the importance of local manufacturing and expertise.

Hindalco, in a recent announcement, unveiled plans for a substantial 25,000 tonne battery foil manufacturing facility in Odisha. This move underscores the company's commitment to contributing to the growing demands of the EV sector in India.

By leveraging each other's strengths and capabilities, the partnership aims to play a significant role in meeting the rising demand for high-quality and locally produced EV battery materials.
