Racing Promotions Private Limited (RPPL), spearheaded by Akhilesh Reddy, in collaboration with JK Tyre, has set the stage for a new chapter in Indian motorsport with the inaugural showrun of the Indian Racing Festival in Srinagar. Set against the ethereal backdrop of Dal Lake in Srinagar, known for its stunning natural beauty and cultural richness, the event offered a tantalising preview of the Indian Racing Festival 2024. This upcoming festival is a comprehensive motorsport extravaganza, featuring the Indian Racing League (IRL), the FIA-endorsed Indian F4 Championship, and the JK Tyre FMSCI National Racing Championship (JKNRC), promising a season filled with over ten races across five rounds for each class.

The showrun in Srinagar, part of a broader nationwide promotional campaign, not only served as a prelude to the exciting season ahead but also highlighted the region's potential as a new hub for motorsport enthusiasts. The event featured the high-performance Wolf GB08 cars and Formula 4 vehicles, manned by motorsport luminaries such as IRL 2023 champion Sohil Shah, Formula 4 Vice Champion Rishon Rajeev, and Formula 4 India driver Shriya Lohia, offering spectators a thrilling glimpse into the speed and prowess that define these competitions.

Fans were treated to an array of motorsport disciplines, from drift shows by India's champions Sanam Sekhon and Pratik Dalal to superbike stunts and rally demonstrations, underscoring the diversity and vibrancy of the sport in India. Notably, young karting prodigies demonstrated their skills, pushing their karts to speeds of 120 kmph, illustrating the depth of talent and the future of motorsport in India.

Akhilesh Reddy, the visionary behind RPPL, expressed his gratitude towards the Jammu & Kashmir Tourism Department for their support in bringing this event to life. He emphasised the event's potential to inspire and engage the youth of Jammu & Kashmir, offering them a glimpse into the world of motorsport and the opportunities it presents.

Sanjay Sharma, Head of Motorsport at JK Tyre & Industries, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the partnership's role in introducing international standards to Indian motorsport and fostering local talent. The Indian Racing Festival is positioned as a catalyst for discovering and nurturing Indian talent, with the ambition of propelling them onto the international stage.
